Marker, a London-based startup building an AI-powered word processor, has emerged from stealth with $13 million in seed funding. The company aims to provide tools that assist writers during the creative process rather than replacing them, focusing on features such as ideation, revision, and collaborative workflows.

The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from LocalGlobe. Additional investors include angel investors Steve Newman, co-founder of Writely; Cal Henderson, co-founder of Slack; and Thomas Wolf of Hugging Face.
