Sportsbox AI Closes $5.5 Million in Seed Round

Sportsbox AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) coaching startup that uses motion-capture technology to improve athletic performance, closed $5.5 million in a seed funding round led by EP Golf Venture, a new investment partnership created by the PGA of America and Elysian Park Ventures.

Other participants in the round included women’s golfers Michelle Wie West, Marina Alex, and Mel Reid, as well as golf coaches and broadcasters, including golf coaches Sean Foley and David Leadbetter; Randi Zuckerberg, golf broadcasters Amanda Balionis and Kira K. Dixon.

This new round of funding enables Sportsbox AI to accelerate its growth to transform the game of golf and sports overall with accessible, accurate 3D technology and expand into more sports.

The company plans to eventually expand into other sports.
