Config Raises $27M Seed at $200M+ Valuation
Config, a Seoul- and San Jose-based robotics data infrastructure startup, has raised $27 million in an oversubscribed seed round, bringing its total funding to $34 million.
Investors
The seed round was led by Samsung Venture Investment. Strategic investors included ZER01NE, the venture arm of Hyundai Motor Group, LG Technology Ventures, and SKT America, the U.S. VC unit of SK Telecom. Financial backers included Mirae Asset Venture Investment, Korea Development Bank, GS Futures, Kakao Ventures, and ZVC. Pieter Abbeel, co-founder of Covariant AI and a professor at UC Berkeley, also joined as an angel investor.
Config Use of Funds
The fresh capital will be deployed across three fronts: expanding data collection in Vietnam and Seoul toward one million hours; scaling the enterprise platform to $10 million in ARR by end of 2026; and launching a cloud-based Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) product that allows customers to run Config's foundation model without any onboard hardware.
