Companion.energy Raises €7.8M Seed

Companion.energy, a Ghent-based software startup that automates energy management for industrial enterprises, has raised €7.8 million in a seed round of funding. Founded in 2022, the company provides a platform that connects energy contracts, operational systems, and distributed assets to provide real-time forecasting and automated decision-making. This latest funding follows a previous €2.1 million round in 2024.

The round was co-led by Realyze Ventures and Pi Labs, with participation from Asterion Ventures and existing investors.

Companion.energy Use of Funds

The company plans to use the new capital to deepen its multi-asset and multi-market optimization software capabilities and to fund commercial expansion into Germany and Spain.
