Hyperbolic Raises $30M Series A-1
Hyperbolic, a San Francisco-based AI infrastructure startup that helps companies manage and run computing power across multiple GPU cloud providers, has raised $30 million in a Series A-1 funding round. This new investment brings the company's total funding to $50 million.
Investors
The round was led by Walden Catalyst, a venture firm founded by Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and former Samsung president Young Sohn. Additional participating investors included Dell Technologies Capital, General Catalyst, Vista Equity Partners, Cambium Capital, and Salience Capital.
Hyperbolic Use of Funds
Hyperbolic plans to use the capital to further develop its Forge platform and create tools for running workloads across multiple clouds. Additionally, the company intends to build a Global Compute Grid, enabling customers to resell unused computing power, while also implementing spot instances, dynamic pricing, and hedging tools to facilitate a market-like trading environment for GPU capacity.
About Hyperbolic
Founded by Jasper Zhang and Yuchen Jin, Hyperbolic provides a control plane called Forge that integrates mixed clusters of bare-metal GPUs into a standardized capacity layer. By connecting customers to approximately 30 cloud providers through a single dashboard, the company simplifies the management, networking, and operation of AI computing resources.
