Bekia, an Egyptian recycling startup, has secured $765,000 in seed funding to scale its collection network and expand its technological capabilities. The company provides a platform that formalizes waste collection by connecting households with recycling services through digital payments and verified tracking.

Investors

The round was led by Madica, an Africa-focused investment programme affiliated with Flourish Ventures. The round also included participation from returning investor Catalyst Fund and Dakar-based Jambaar Capital.

Bekia Use of Funds

Bekia plans to use the new funding to grow its engineering team, bring its forthcoming B2B software product Bekia Next to market, and begin testing its operational model in a second African market.
