Resemble AI, a Toronto, Canada-based platform that uses generative AI to clone realistic-sounding voices, has raised $8 million in Series A funding.
The round was led by Javelin Venture Partners. Craft Ventures and Ubiquity Ventures also participated in the round.
The funding brings Resemble's total raised to $12 million, and the funds will be used to further develop the company's enterprise products and expand its team to over 40 people by the end of the year.
The platform initially focused on gaming use cases but has expanded to offer AI technology that can transfer voices to other languages, generate personalized messages from voice actors, and create real-time conversational agents.
The company also developed Resemble Detect, an AI model that can validate the authenticity of audio data and distinguish fakes from real audio.
The platform aims to make voice content creation easier and add a new level of authenticity and immersion for content creators and their audiences.
