Applied Computing Raises £15M in Funding

Applied Computing, a London-based software company building specialized foundation models for energy operations, has raised £15 million ($20M) in funding. The company specializes in creating AI models tailored for upstream, downstream, and petrochemical operations by integrating language models with physics and chemical engineering data.

Investors

The funding round was led by engineering group KBR, with participation from new investor Databricks Ventures.

Applied Computing Use of Funds

The company plans to use the new capital to fund its expansion into the United States through the opening of a new office in Houston, Texas, and to increase investment in its core AI research and development.
