by Kay Aloha Villamor in September 30th, 2022

7Analytics, a Bergen, Norway-based startup that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to predict flood behavior, announced that it raised $2.5 million (approximately €2.5M) in a Seed round of funding.

The round was led by Momentum Partners, with participation from Construct Venture, Link Capital, and Obos VC.

7Analytics will use the funds to create models for other natural risks such as landslides and biodiversity.

“If you look at the natural hazards on the global scale, flooding has the highest economic impact on society,” said, Jonas Toland, co-founder of 7Analytics. “We need innovation to mitigate flood risk, so a flood prediction tool was an impactful starting point for us.”

The funding ushers in a new era for 7Analytics, as it accelerates product development and expands into new areas in desperate need of an efficient nature risk instrument with high precision and usability.
