Zelt Raises $3.5 Million in Seed Round

by Kay Aloha Villamor in July 20th, 2023

Zelt, a London, UK-based HR tech startup that enables companies to manage HR, IT, and financial tasks on one platform, raised $3.5 million in seed funding.

The round was co-led by Episode 1 Ventures and Village Global, with participation from a number of angels and VC scout funds, including Charlie Songhurst, Trouva co-founder Mandeep Singh, Drover founder Felix Leuschner, and Habito CEO Daniel Hegarty.

The startup aims to simplify the processes associated with the likes of payroll, hardware assignment, and annual leave. Zelt predominantly targets small businesses and counts the likes of Robin and Mumsnet among its customers.

"Previously I focused on investing in B2B software verticals but HR lags behind other areas by a generation, it's been underinvested in because it's further from revenue," Christopher Priebe, CEO and founder at Zelt told Insider. "Companies need around four to six tools for on and offboarding, it's hard to automate and self-service is impossible, meaning that HR and finance teams spend so much time on administration."
