by Kay Aloha Villamor in September 1st, 2022

Silence Laboratories, a Singapore-based web3-focused digital asset cybersecurity startup working on libraries for MPC and proof-based decentralized Security-as-a-Service (DSaaS), raised $1.7 million in seed funding.

The round was led by Pi Ventures, with participation from web3-centric funds such as imToken ventures and prominent angels like Daniel Ari Friedman, Mahin Gupta, CK Vishwakarma, Priyeshu Garg, Ashish Tiwari, and more.

The startup intends to use the funds to broaden its product offerings toward decentralized security, enrich the technology stack, strengthen its team, and scale its go-to-market operations to assist enterprises in adopting cutting-edge authentication and authorization techniques.

Silence Laboratories will soon release its product portfolio for integrations and announce some significant collaborations that will position them as a leading enterprise security partner, regardless of blockchain applications.

Silence Laboratories is working on setting up an Applied Cryptography and Web3 Security corporate R&D center in South Asia, with local and international collaborations.

About the Company: Founded by Jay Prakash and Andrei Bytes, who met during their PhDs, Silence Laboratories (SL) is a web3-focused digital asset cybersecurity startup that developed libraries for a decentralized security library stack. The core technology to support decentralized and high-grade security for digital assets with functionalities of key management, distributed signature, and authorization is built on top of a unique fusion of multi-party computation (MPC), sensing, and intelligent signal processing. Silence Laboratories’ mission is to build a developer-focused cryptographic stack, motivated to democratize non-trivial libraries. SL’s vision is to enable a developer-centric infrastructure such that web3 developers of wallets, exchanges, and custodians can adopt best-in-class cryptographic algorithms for key and access management without needing to worry about implementation and design details. SL has been working closely with several leading players in the Web 3 ecosystem, particularly to develop Silent Shard and Silent Auth. Silence Laboratories is open to collaborators and enjoys co-development and R&D calls with partners from the Web3 and hybrid Web2 industries.
