CostCertified, a Canadian startup that provides real-time, interactive residential construction estimates, raised $8.45 million in a Seed round led by FUSE.
The company is also backed by Y Combinator (having participated in the accelerator’s S21 batch), I2BF Global Ventures, Soma Capital, and several proptech/construction tech founders such as Willy Schlacks, CEO and co-founder of EquipmentShare; Ryan Sutton-Gee, PlanGrid co-founder and former COO; Jonathan Wasserstrum, co-founder and CEO of SquareFoot and Bill Smith, founder, and CEO of Landing.
CostCertified today is a price configurator tool for construction, but the Calgary, Alberta-based company’s end goal is to build the “Amazon for construction.”

About the Company: CostCertified was born from two guys with a vision that wanted to change how construction estimating and management were done. CostCertified is an all-in-one platform that enables the consumer to buy construction services, with the same rich e-commerce experience they are used to when buying other goods and services online. And it allows the contractor to provide interactive, accurate quotes in minutes which would have taken hours. The core platform has allowed payment facilitation and automation for the first time. This means the consumer has full visibility over their funds.
