Kern AI, an Eichwalde, Germany-based data-centric developer platform for natural language processing to help companies turn their unstructured text into value, raised €2.7 million in seed funding.
The round was co-led by Seedcamp and Faber, with participation from xdeck, Another.vc, and angel investors Nicolas Peters, Gerrit de Veer, Marcus Nagel, Sebastian Heinz and Julius Heinz, and TKM Family Office.
The funds will be used to expand its platform’s capabilities and use case catalog, grow its developer community, and make it generally available to the public.

Kern AI is building a platform designed for developers who want to implement data-centric NLP solutions.
Its use cases range from internal workflows for operational or analytical purposes, such as complex customer-facing services, to building sophisticated NLP applications with their platform as the training database.
The company’s suite of products is used by data scientists at AI-driven organizations (including Samsung, Barmenia, DocuSign, co:here, and Seedcamp-back crowddev) to perform label automation, cleansing, and monitoring.
Kern AI also announced its free personal tier, which can use as a hobbyist or indie developer.
