Fivecast Raises A$30 Million in Series A

by Kay Aloha Villamor in April 13th, 2023

Fivecast, an Australia-based open-source intelligence (OSINT) software company, secured almost A$30 million in its Series A funding round to expand its services in key markets, including Five Eyes nations.

US-based cyber security venture capital firm Ten Eleven is leading the funding, with additional investment from existing Australian backers, to support the increasing demand for data and risk analytics among governments and corporations.

It is also targeting the Asia Pacific region and Europe, adding further capabilities in adjacent use cases such as corporate security and financial intelligence.

“An increasingly complex and growing threat landscape combined with the sheer volume of data available online makes it extremely difficult for intelligence personnel to collect, filter and analyze data in a timely way,” Fivecast CEO and Co-Founder Dr. Brenton Cooper said. “Our platform enables customers to fight the proliferation of threats, pierce through sophisticated online landscapes, and speed up investigations to protect global communities and organizations.”

Fivecast collaborates with government agencies and leading research institutions to offer OSINT technology that employs artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to enhance the safety of society.

Their software allows for the targeted gathering and analysis of publicly available information for particular applications, such as detecting extremists, terrorists, drug traffickers, and organized crime.
