Fence Raises €1.8 Million in Seed Funding Round

Fence, a Madrid, Spain-based fintech startup that develops software for the automation and optimization of debt operations for asset financing, has raised €1.8 million in pre-seed funding.   

SaaS Investors  

The round was led by Semantic.vc, with participation from Crane Earth, Actyus, and business angels including Hardi Maybaum, Mark Ransford, Didier Valet, Luca Ascani, Baptiste Cota, Paula Blázquez, Eduardo Salvo and Alexandra Piedrahita, in addition to the founders of Cobee, Wallapop, and Glovo, among others.  

Founded in 2018, Semantic Ventures is a venture capital investment firm based in London, United Kingdom. The firm focuses on early-stage investments in open networks and markets, internet services, software, and information technology sectors. 

Fence Use of Funds  

The company will use the funds for technology development and to expand operations to serve more banks, private debt funds, and fintechs across Europe.

Founded in 2023 by Juan Montero, Ignacio Rosario, and Gonzalo Bandeira, Fence is developing infrastructure to monitor and automate debt operations, from origination and issuance to day-to-day reporting and payments. The platform, built on blockchain technology, offers a SaaS solution to simplify and automate debt facility operations. It aims to help capital providers and asset originators focus on high-value tasks like underwriting and portfolio servicing, scaling their back-office operations.
