Contentoo, an Amsterdam, Netherlands-based platform for content creation and localization, raised €5 million in a fresh round of funding.
The investment involves more than 30 investors through No Such Ventures. They include entrepreneurs Perry Oostdam and Pawel Smoczyk, the co-founders of Recruitee, as well as Jeroen Verberg, the founder of Bloomreach-bought Hippo.
The proceeds will be used to scale up in Europe, with a rapidly growing pool of several thousand freelance copywriters, translators, and content marketing strategists around the world. Only the top 10 percent of freelancers have access to Contentoo.
“We see that the content creation market is hugely important for companies to be successful. For SEO, content marketing, and especially for entering new foreign markets. Through our platform, we connect organisations with freelance copywriters and translators with local market expertise. They work remotely but operate as in-house employees. Companies require quality, yet also flexibility and an efficient workflow. So we operate as a platform, but with the service of an agency. Contentoo uses artificial intelligence on its platform to match freelancers with clients, create better briefings, and speed up work processes.
