Ariga, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based startup specializing in database schema-as-code, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round, in addition to a previously undisclosed $3 million seed round.
The $18 million in funding was led by Tiger Global and TLV Partners, with participation from undisclosed angel investors.
The company aims to simplify database management by allowing users to define database schemas as code. This approach reduces complexity and facilitates easier interaction with and management of databases.
Ariga's platform empowers users to capture their desired database state and topology, plan and verify changes, and then execute and monitor the database. To achieve this, the company created an open-source tool called Atlas, written in Go, that facilitates the management of multiple databases. Atlas can accept the desired state of databases, and connect to live databases or previous states.
Since its launch in 2022, Atlas has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, with users running the tool thousands or tens of thousands of times daily.
Earlier this year, Ariga launched Atlas Cloud, a SaaS version of the database management tool, and is currently working with various paying customers. The startup has around a dozen employees and is actively hiring for open positions.
