Anysphere Raises $8 Million in Seed Round

Anysphere, a Massachusetts-based startup that has developed an "AI-native" software development environment called Cursor, has raised $8 million in seed funding.

The round was led by OpenAI's Startup Fund and included participation from angel investors including former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman and Dropbox co-founder Arash Ferdowsi. 

OpenAI Startup Fund invests in startups, especially in artificial intelligence companies. OpenAI seeks to partner with a small number of early-stage startups in fields where artificial intelligence can have a transformative effect—like health care, climate change, and education—and where AI tools can empower people by helping them be more productive.

Anysphere Use of Funds

The funding will be allocated to the recruitment and support of Anysphere's AI and machine learning research.
