Albert Invent, an Oakland, California-based company empowering global organizations to accelerate innovation with its state-of-the-art R&D platform, raised $7.5 million in seed funding
The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Homebrew, F-Prime Capital, and prominent angel investors.
With the funding, Albert Invent plans to onboard more chemistry and materials science companies, further expanding its presence in the industry and supporting the development of products that impact consumers' everyday lives.
The company’s platform, called Albert, is designed to accelerate innovation for global organizations. It enables scientists to expedite their time to market by breaking down barriers caused by disconnected R&D processes and systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).
“It’s been my experience that the lab is a place where magic can happen when all of the pieces align,” said Albert Co-founder and CEO Nick Talken. “We’ve put the right team in place to persistently evolve Albert so that data-driven innovation is a regular occurrence. But beyond that, Albert is something people actually want to use. They’re willing to replace their spreadsheets and notebooks to try something new, and they’re experiencing benefits that they didn’t realize were possible previously. Now, they can get their work out into the world faster than ever before, enabling a hugely positive impact on the ways we live and work.”
Now with more than 60 employees, Albert Invent continues to hire subject matter experts in data science, engineering, customer success, and more to contribute to the innovation of the product and the success of its customers.
